1. General Submission Requirements

  • Language: Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian.

  • File Format: Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (.doc / .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf).

  • Page Layout: A4 size paper, typed in a single-column format.

  • Avoid using formulas or abbreviations in the title.

Abstract & Keywords

  • Abstract: A single paragraph of 150–300 words written in both English and Indonesian. It must be structured to include: Background, Objectives, Methodology, Results, Conclusion, and the study’s contribution (e.g., impact on interoperability, coding integrity, or governance).

  • Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases, arranged alphabetically, using specific technical terms where relevant.

Introduction

  • Explain the background, the specific problem, and the importance of the research.

  • Include a brief, focused literature review of previous findings.

  • Conclude with a clear statement of the research purposes.

Literature Review (Optional)

  • Authors may include this sub-chapter if deep theoretical grounding is required (e.g., discussing specific frameworks like HL7 FHIR, SNOMED CT, or data privacy ethics).

Research Method

  • Provide enough detail so the work can be replicated.

  • Include technical specifications of materials/equipment and clear data analysis methods.

  • HIM-Specific Notes: * State ethical approval and data protection measures if using patient/clinical data.

    • Define versions and mapping rules if using standards like ICD-11, LOINC, or SNOMED CT.

Results and Discussion

  • Present findings clearly using tables or figures (do not present raw data).

  • Interpretation: Explain why the results occurred and what they mean scientifically.

  • Comparison: Compare your results with previous studies—highlighting similarities or differences.

Conclusion

  • Provide a clear answer to the research questions in a flowing paragraph format.

  • Avoid statistical jargon in this section; focus on the substantive meaning of the findings.

3. Formatting & Tables/Figures

  • Headings: "Results and Discussion" must be capitalized, bolded, and spaced 1 line apart.

  • Visuals: Tables and figures should be simplified, readable, and numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

  • Citations: Refer to visuals by their number (e.g., "as seen in Table 1") rather than their location (e.g., "in the table below").

4. References & Citations

  • Software: Authors must use a citation manager such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • Style: Follow the APA (American Psychological Association) reference style.

  • In-text Citations:

    • Two authors: List both names (e.g., Smith & Jones, 2024).

    • Three or more authors: List the first author followed by et al. (e.g., Smith et al., 2024).

5. Manuscript Template

To ensure your manuscript meets all formatting requirements, please download and use our official English-language template:

Privacy Statement

This statement explains how the Indonesian Journal of Health Informatics (IJHI), published by Yayasan Quadra Science Indonesia through Open Journal Systems (OJS), handles personal information provided through this journal site. The statement is informed by Indonesia's Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.

Information we collect

Depending on how a person uses the journal, OJS may collect account and profile details, names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, submission and review records, editorial correspondence, and technical information such as IP address, browser information, cookies, and access logs.

Why we use it

Information is used to operate manuscript submission, peer review, editing, publication, user support, site security, service improvement, and the scholarly record. We limit use to purposes connected with the journal and legitimate publishing administration.

Peer-review confidentiality

IJHI uses double-anonymous peer review. Manuscript and reviewer information is shared only with editors, reviewers, authors, and service personnel who need it for the publishing workflow. Review identities and confidential manuscript material are not made public except where disclosure is required by law or expressly agreed by the affected person.

The journal does not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by hosting, email, indexing, identifier, preservation, analytics, or other scholarly-infrastructure providers when necessary to operate or disseminate the journal. Public article metadata may include author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and contact details designated for publication.

Cookies, security, and retention

OJS uses cookies and server logs for authentication, session continuity, security, and basic site operation. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect journal data. Records are retained for as long as needed for publishing, integrity, legal, security, backup, and recovery purposes; published scholarly metadata may be retained as part of the permanent academic record.
