Focus and Scope

The Indonesian Journal of Health Informatics (IJHI) publishes original research, systematic reviews, and implementation reports that advance digital health and health information management. Our mission is to promote the evidence-based use of health data in both emerging and mature health systems. We specifically seek contributions that address the critical intersection of clinical practice, information technology, and population health outcomes.

Core Research Areas:

1. Standards & Interoperability

Architectures and standards enabling secure, cross-platform health information exchange.

Key Topics: HL7 FHIR implementation, HIE architectures, remote monitoring/EHR integration, and interoperability readiness.

2. AI & Data Analytics

Advanced computational methods for extracting clinical and managerial insights from health data.

Key Topics: NLP for clinical text, machine learning for predictive diagnosis, automated coding, and Big Data visualization.

3. Governance, Privacy & Ethics

Legal, ethical, and accountability frameworks for the responsible use of patient data.

Key Topics: Data stewardship, privacy law implementation (GDPR/UU PDP), cybersecurity, and data quality management.

4. Digital Epidemiology

The application of routine digital health data for surveillance and population-level research.

Key Topics: Secondary use of EHRs, disease surveillance systems, registry management (e.g., Cancer/Stroke), and spatial epidemiology.

5. Clinical Classifications

The standardized terminologies that form the foundational language of global healthcare documentation.

Key Topics: Adoption and mapping of ICD-11, ICHI, and SNOMED-CT; terminology governance; and case-mix system studies (e.g., INA-CBGs).

Note: The topics listed above are illustrative; the journal welcomes all high-quality submissions related to health information management.
