Crossmark Policy
Crossmark Policy
The Indonesian Journal of Health Informatics (IJHI) is committed to maintaining the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the scientific record. As part of this commitment, IJHI participates in Crossmark, a multi-publisher initiative by Crossref that provides a standard way for readers to locate the current, authoritative version of a published document.
The Crossmark Commitment
Scholarly publishing is a dynamic process. Articles may occasionally be updated, corrected, or even retracted after publication. By applying the Crossmark button to our articles, IJHI commits to maintaining the content we publish and to actively alerting our readers to any significant changes. Clicking the Crossmark icon on any IJHI article will instantly inform the reader of the document's current status and provide links to any post-publication updates.
Post-Publication Updates and Corrections
If an error is discovered in a published article that affects the scientific record, IJHI will issue a formal correction:
- Erratum: Issued for significant errors introduced during the publishing or editing process (Publisher Error).
- Corrigendum: Issued for significant errors made by the authors that do not invalidate the overall results or conclusions of the study (Author Error).
- Addendum: Issued to provide additional, crucial information about a publication, often including additional results or clarifications that do not contradict the original publication.
Retractions, Expressions of Concern, and Removals
In severe cases of scientific misconduct or fundamental errors, IJHI will take decisive action to protect the scholarly record in accordance with COPE guidelines:
- Expression of Concern: Issued when there are credible, serious allegations of misconduct or data unreliability, but an investigation is still ongoing and a final conclusion has not yet been reached.
- Retraction: Issued when an article's findings are completely invalidated due to severe errors (e.g., data fabrication), ethical violations, or duplicate publication. The original PDF remains accessible but is heavily watermarked as "RETRACTED", and an explanatory retraction notice is published.
- Article Removal: Used only in highly exceptional circumstances (e.g., the article is legally defamatory, violates severe privacy rights, or poses a serious health risk). The article metadata is retained, but the PDF text is deleted and replaced with a notice of removal.
